It's GREAT to be a Golden Tiger! I graduated from RHS in 1986, attended NWSCC and graduated from the University of North Alabama with a BSEd in elementary education. I married my wife Deborah in 1990 and we moved to Georgia. I taught in Meriwether County for 8 years (that's where they film The Walking Dead). I got my Master's in Middle School Education at LaGrange College and my EdS in Middle School Education from Columbus State University. During that time, I had two daughters, Shelby and Chloe. I returned to Russellville Middle School to teach math in 1998. I taught here for 17 years while my daughters went to school and graduated. I started the Robotics and Rocketry teams here in 2008. In 2015, I went to work for the Alabama Math, Science and Technology Initiative at UNA. I worked there for 6 years as a science and math specialist, helping coach teachers in the region and working with other specialists across the state, creating professional development opportunities. It was very rewarding and helped me become a better teacher. I am now teaching 8th grade science and a STEM class again here at RMS. My wife works with Upward Bound at NWSCC in Phil Campbell. My children have both graduated from college and are working. Forever Golden!
