BSEd - Elementary Education ELL Certification K-12
Mr. Edmund Preciado Martinez
Buenos Dias!
I am Edmund Martinez, the new ELL/ESL teacher here at Russellville High school. At RHS, I also teach Spanish I and Access World History. I was raised in Vina, Alabama, and graduated from Vina High School in 2001. After high school, I attended Bevil State, where I received an Associates's Degree in Elementary Education. I continued my education by attending Athens State University. In 2019 I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I am currently in a Masters's Program in Teaching MultiLingual Learners at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, with a graduation date of December 2021. After that, I will pursue an EdS in Instructional Leadership and use this degree to serve my students better. I also received my TESOL Certification K-12 so that I could perform ELL functions and help prepare my fellow teachers to work with non-native English speakers. I am Bi-Lingual, speaking both Spanish and English Fluently, and am currently learning Portuguese.
My expectations for all of my students are of excellence, and I clearly state from day one. I'm engaged to a first-grade teacher and have three fantastic step-children: Katie- Graduate from Auburn University and currently in Law School at Ole Miss, Will- Is currently Attending Auburn, and Carter is a Freshman at Hamilton High School.
I am thankful for the opportunity to serve alongside some fantastic educators here at Russellville City Schools as we look to inspire and create life-long learners.
